Notes

Pulsar Was Lancaster/Pennsylvania-based Hamilton Watch Company?s desperate attempt at averting bankruptcy by entering the novel sector of quartz wristwatches in 1970, at a time when traditional watchmaking was globally in decline. This first all-electronic LED wristwatch met with initial success, yet by 1975, Swiss and Japanese competition forced Hamilton out of business and its watch division was sold to rivals from Switzerland. The American jewelry firm Rhapsody, Inc. bought the ?Pulsar? brand in 1977, but later sold the trademark to Seiko.
