Notes

First patented by the St-Blaise Watch company in 1955 and invented by Gerard Friedli, the concept was to mount a watch to a key so that the driver would have easy access to the time. The patent documents highlight the invention?s practicality, especially when the car clock was not running properly or had to be taken out to be fixed. They also state that the watch can be oriented towards the driver thanks to its swiveling mount. This means it can be adapted to any size of car or height of driver; it can even be folded to be placed in the owner?s pocket when he leaves his automobile.
