Wempe, Chronometerwerke, Hamburg, No. 6161, circa 1940. Fine, two-daymarine box chronometer with 56-hour winding indicator.
C. Two-tier, mahogany handles, front brass plate, brass bowl and gimbaled suspension. D. White, Arabic hour numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6 o?clock with the CW (Chronometerwerke) logo, upand- down indicator at 12 o?clock. Brass spade hands. M. 85 mm, nickeled full plate, turned pillars secured by screws, fusee and chain, Earnshaw spring detent escapement, 2-arm bimetallic compensation balance with cylindrical weights and 2 meantime adjusting nuts, helical balance spring with outer terminal curves. Dial and box signed. Dim: height, width and depth: 18 cm.
