Zacarie Martinot a Paris. Made circa 1710. Fine, Louis XIV, silver oignon watch with two hands.
C. Two-body, ?oignon?, mastermark IN beneath a crown, the back and bezel with engraved decoration, square hinge, loose ring pendant. D. White enamel with bold radial black painted Roman numerals on raised cartouches, inner quarter-hour ring, outer minute track with Arabic five-minute numerals, winding aperture at 3 o?clock. Blued steel beetle and poker hands. M. 47 mm, frosted gilt full plate, divided Egyptian pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm steel balance, short balance spring, pierced and chased cock decorated with two opposing goats, birds and foliage, Tompion-type regulator with silver scale disc. Movement signed. Diam. 58 mm.
