The Altar of Love Guettier a Rouen, No. 136. Made circa 1770. Fine, 20K varicolored gold pocket watch.
C. Two-body, the back decorated with an oval varicolored scene of two hearts on the altar of love with a pair of doves above and surrounded by a basket of flowers, mandolin and bow and quiver, border and bezel with repeated pattern. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and large Arabic fiveminute numerals. Gold fleur-de-lys hands. M. 35 mm., frosted gilt full plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, continental balance cock, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 41 mm.
