Mallet a Paris, No. 214. Made circa 1775. Fine, large, varicolored gold pocket watch with brass and tortoiseshell outer protecting case.

C. Outer: two-body, gilt brass overlaid with tortoiseshell. Inner: two-body, the back engine-turned and engraved with continuous concentric leaf patterns, the center decorated with a dog and urn in a landscape, bezel with laurel and berry decoration. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute divisions and Arabic five-minute numerals. Gold beetle and poker hands. M. 52 mm., gilt full-plate, conical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, brass threearm balance, flat balance spring, pierced and chased foliate continental balance cock, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 60 mm (64 mm with outer protecting case).
