Quarter-Repeating H. Lepaute, a Paris, No. 1978. Made circa 1815-1820. Fine 18K gold quarter-repeating pocket watch.

C. Four-body, ?Empire?, No. 7927, polished back and bezels, reeded band, locking bolt for the repeat at 1. Gold cuvette. D.White enamel with dauphine numerals, outer minute divisions. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 47 mm., frosted gilt, standing barrel, lever escapement, three-arm brass balance, the balance, lever and escape wheel pivots jeweled, the top pivot with pare-chute, blued steel flat balance spring, blued steel index regulator with bimetallic temperature compensation curb, repeating with two polished steel hammers on two square-section gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Cuvette signed. Diam. 55 mm.
