Spring Detent Chronometer Dent, Watchmaker to the Queen, 61 Strand, London, No. 29374. The case with London hallmarks for 1863-1864. Very fine and rare, silver half hunting-cased pocket chronometerwith spring footed-detent escapement.

C. Four-body, ?bassine et filet?, engine-turned, the front cover with applied chapter ring, radial blue enamel Roman numerals, inner minute track, reeded band, gold hinges. Hinged silver cuvette. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel spade hands. M. 41 mm., 18???, matte gilt half-plate, ring-turned pillars, fusee and chain, Harrison?s maintaining power, jeweled to the third wheel, Earnshaw-type chronometer escapement with gold escape wheel, spring footed-detent, free-sprung cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold temperature and meantime adjustment screws, blued steel helical balance spring with terminal curves, diamond endstone, foliate engraved balance cock. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 54 mm.
