Independent Dead Center-Seconds &Quarter-Repeating A. Huguenin & Fils, Locle, No. 14181, retailed by Jles. Pelletier, Horloger, Angers. Made circa 1875. Very fine, quarter-repeating, 18K rose gold, two-train, keyless pocket watch with independent dead center-seconds, double gold wheel train and 24-hour dial.
C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", polished, the back with an applied gold monogram, buttons at 11 for the hand-setting and 1 to stop the center seconds. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the technical details and with engine-turned border. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five-minutenumerals. Gold spade hands. M. 41 mm., 18''', frosted gilt, 45 jewels, two-train with tandem winding, double gold wheel train with tandem winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by ba slide on the band. Signed by Pelletier on the cuvette, punched A. Huguenin & Fils, Locle on the front plate.
