Unsigned, Geneva. Produced circa 1900.Fine gilt silver and enamel singing bird box fitted with a watch.

C. rectangular with canted corners, top, bottom and side panels with "guilloché" decoration, top cover edges engraved with laurel leaf pattern, cover of bird mechanism with coat of arms in champlevé enamel. Singing bird movement: going barrel, rectangular reservoir and bellows, the bird with moving wings and beak, controlled by two cams mounted beneath the barrel wheel, gilt brass grill engraved with foliage. Watch: silvered dial with Arabic numerals, 23 mm movement, rhodium-plated, straight linlever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring.Dim. 100 x 65 x 43 mm.
