Pivoted Detent Chronometer Swiss, "Pivoted Detent Chronometer," No. 50776. Made circa 1890. Very fine and rare, 18K gold, half hunting-cased, keyless pocket chronometer with pivoted detent escapement.
C. Four-body, "bassine," polished, spring-loaded front cover with glazed aperture, black enamel radial Roman chapter ring, inner minute track, hinged gold cuvette, gold-rimmed cover glazed to view the movement. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds. Gold double spade hands. M. 42 mm., 19''', rhodium-plated, sunray and oeil-de-perdrix decoration, 17 jewels, 4 in chatons, pivoted detent chronometer escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with peripheral timing screws, blued steel helical balance spring, index regulator. Movement numbered. Diam. 54 mm. Thickness 16 mm.
