Pivoted Detent Chronometer Ulysse Breting, Locle, No. 23945. Made circa 1865. Very fine, 18K rose gold, keyless pocket chronometer with pivoted detent escapement and gold wheel train. To be sold without reserve
C. Four-body, "bassine et filets", engine-turned back, reeded bezels. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the technical details and engine-turned border. D. White enamel, narrow radial Roman numeals, outer minute track, large subsidiary dial for the seconds. Pink gold paste-set hands. M. 42 mm., 19???, 18 jewels, going barrel, wolf?s tooth winding, gold wheel train, pivoted detent escapement with gold escape wheel, detent pivot with gold jewel cap on the cock, cut bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial and cuvette signed, case numbered. Diam. 52 mm.
