Grande & Petite Sonnerie Lacloche Freres, Paris, No. 23098. Made circa 1890. Fine and rare, gilt brass, grande and petite sonnerie, 8-day going carriage clock with repeating and alarm. To be sold without reserve
C. Multi-piece, fluted outset columns, flat base and entablature with applied rococo decoration, glazed on all sides and the top with bevelled glass, turned feet and finials, hinged handle. D. Off-white enamel with Arabic numerals, outer gold dot minute divisions, subsidiary dial for the alarm, matte gilt brass mask. Black steel spade and lozenge hands. M. Brass, rectangular with going barrels both on the going and the striking train, gilt platform escapement with lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator, striking, repeating and alarm on two gongs, with button on the top for activating the repeating, grande sonnerie/petite sonnerie/silent optional lever on the base, further barrel for the alarm train. Dial and case signed, movement numbered Dim. 15.5 x 10 x 8.6 cm.
