Andromache Autran a Paris, No. 2230. Made circa 1790. Very fine, 20K varicolored gold and painted on enamel pocket watch.
C. Two-body, ?bassine?, the bezel decorated with a continuous band of two-color gold leaves, the back of the case with border to match and decorated with a fine painted on enamel scene depicting Andromache kneeling by a swagged blue urn and an attendant holding a basket of flowers in an arcadian landscape, gold paillon border, further royal blue guilloche enamel border decorated with gold paillon leaves. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute divisions, outermost Arabic five-minute numerals. Gold beetle and poker hands. M. 42 mm., matte gilt brass, full plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, plain threearm brass balance, flat balance spring, pierced and engraved continental balance cock, polished steel endplate, index regulator with silver dial. Dial and movement signed, case numbered. Diam. 53 mm.
