Gold Clockwatch Cha. Molins, London, No. 341. Made circa 1725. Fine and rare, gold, pair-cased, two-train clockwatch with gilt and fishskin outer case.

C. Outer: Two-body, gilt metal overlaid with fishskin and with pique decoration. Inner: Two-body, gold, ?bassine?, deep back, polished bezel, band very finely pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage and a grotesque mask, loose ring pendant. Gilt brass dust cover. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and outermost Arabic five-minute numerals. Blued steel beetle and poker hands. M. 38 mm., gilt full plate, baluster pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, three-arm steel balance with flat balance spring, finely pierced and engraved balance cock and backplate furniture, the cock with small streamers, silver regulation dial, engraved fixed barrel for the striking train, striking the hours with a single hammer on a bell in the back of the case, strike/silent lever protruding from the bezel. Movement signed. Diam. 58 mm with outer case.
