Telemachus and Calypso John Turner, London, No. 531. The inner case with London hallmarks for 1724-25. Very fine and rare, 20K gold, repoussé pair-cased pocket watch with silver balance cock.

C. Outer: two-body, repoussé, decorated with a scene of Telemachus and Calypso within a rococo cartouche, border decorated with fruits and flowers, bezel decorated to match. Inner: two-body, "bassine", polished. D. Gold champleve with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost five-minute Arabic numerals. Blued steel beetle and poker hands. M. 38 mm, frosted gilt full-plate with divided Egyptian pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance with short flat balance spring, unusual glazed silver cock with pierced and engraved foot, large diamond endstone, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 51 mm.
