Diana & Attendant W. Threlkeld, London, No. 492. The inner case with London date letter only for 1729-30. Very fine, 20K gold, repoussé pair-cased pocket watch with silver balance cock.
C. Outer: two-body, repoussé, decorated with a scene of Diana and an attendant with cupid holding a basket of flowers in an arcadian landscape, within a rococo cartouche, border decorated with shells and birds, bezel decorated to match. Inner: two-body, "bassine", polished. Silver dust cover. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute divisions, fifteen minute Arabic numerals. Finely pierced gold hands. M. 36 mm, frosted gilt full-plate with square baluster pillars, fusee and chain, worm and wheel setup, verge escapement, three-arm steel balance with flat balance spring, pierced and engraved silver cock, silver regulation dial. Movement signed. Diam. 50 mm.
