Quarter Repeating Du Pont a Geneve, No. 3910. Made circa 1780. Fine and rare, quarter-repeating, multicoloured gold pocket watch.
C. Two-body, Louis XVI, the back decorated with a multicolored gold scene of two doves on the altar in the temple of love, outer border decorated with a repeat laurel leaf pattern, bezel decorated to match. D. White enamel with radial Arabic numerals, outer dot minute divisions and Arabic fifteen-minute numerals, secured by a screw. Silver and paste-set pierced hands. M. 37 mm., matte gilt full plate, tapered cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance with flat balance spring, pierced and engraved continental balance cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial, repeating on a bell activated by depressing the pendant. Diam. 48 mm.
