Walnut Table Clock Charles Oudin, Palais Royal, 52 (Paris). The movement made circa 1880, the case made in Italy in the late 18th century. Fine, walnut and gilt brass, 8-day going, hour and half-hour striking table clock with mock pendulum.
C. Flared rectangular, molded cornice, four flambeau urn finials, bell top with gilt brass scroll mount and hinged gilt brass handle, outset corners with gilt brass mounts, glazed sides and hinged front door with gilt brass mounts, stepped molded base, gilt brass scroll feet, hinged glazed back door. D. Gilt brass foliate engraved arch-top mask with applied silvered chapter ring, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with Arabic fiveminute numerals, matted center with aperture for the mock pendulum, silvered signature plaque in the arch engraved ?Fiorelli Roma? beneath a crown. Pierced steel hands. M. 10 x 10.5 cm., brass-plated, going barrels for both trains, anchor escapement, spring suspension, brass bob pendulum, striking the hours and half-hours on a bell. Dial signed ?Fiorelli Roma?, movement signed ?Chles Oudin, Palais-Royal 52?. The back of the dial inscribed ?Mme. Lombart? in black ink. Dim. 42 x 36 x 19 cm. excluding handle.
