Love?s Arrow J(ea)n Ant(oin)e Rey & Fils, No. 23323. Made circa 1780. Very fine, 18K gold, painted on enamel and pearl-set pocket watch.

Two-body, ?Louis XVI?, bezel with engraved lozenge border and set with seed pearls, the back decorated with a finely painted on enamel scene of a lady directing cupid to shoot his arrow at a flaming heart, in an arcadian landscape with opalescent sunset sky, multicolored gold paillon border and outer gold leaf border set with seed pearls. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic fiveminute numerals. Gold pierced hands. M. 38 mm., frosted gilt, full plate, tapered pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, continental-type balance cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial.
