Pivoted Detent Pocket Chronometer Swiss, "Pivoted Detent Chronometer," No. 50776, case No. 50792. Made circa 1890. Very fine and rare, 18K yellow gold, half hunting-cased, keyless pocket chronometer with pivoted detent escapement.
C. Four-body, "bassine," polished, spring-loaded front cover with glazed aperture, black enamel radial Roman chapter ring, inner minute track, hinged gold cuvette, gold-rimmed cover glazed to view the movement. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five minute markers, subsidiary seconds dial. Gold double spade hands. M. Cal. 42 mm., 19''', rhodium-plated, sunray and oeil-deperdrix decoration, 17 jewels, 4 in chatons, pivoted detent chronometer escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with peripheral timing screws, blued steel helical balance spring, index regulator. Movement and case numbered. Diam. 54 mm. Thickness 16 mm.
