Notes

Dick DumasAmerican-born Dick Dumas began his career as a designer-interior decorator and furniture designer. He retired to Sri Lanka from France in 1993 to pursue his love for jewelry making. After meeting Nikki Harrison, the two decided in 1999 to open a retail gallery, Manika, in Colombo, which is known for its outrageous design such as its window displays featuring life-size wire elephants decorated with exotic gemstones. His jewels are all handcrafted and original works of art, "made to be noticed and flaunted". Dick Dumas loves the unconventional, and uses large and unusual gemstones, mostly those from Sri Lanka and India. His designs are quickly gaining recognition worldwide and he has been featured in many international trade publications, such as Jewelers'Circular Keystone.
