Swiss, Neuchatel. Made circa 1815. Very fine and rare, white alabaster and gilt-bronze, 8-day going, three-train quarter-striking mantel clock.
C. White alabaster in the form of a lady seated at a desk and suckling a child, finely chased gilt-bronze mounts throughout, stepped base, gilt bronze-bezel. D. White enamel with radial blue Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 90 mm., circular, three-spring barrels for the going, striking and quarter trains, anchor escapement, silk suspension, brass bob pendulum, striking with three hammers on two bells, strikework on the backplate in the Neuchatel manner. Dim. 42 x 30 x 13.5 cm.
