Table des Lois de Minos French. Made circa 1820. Fine, small, gilt and patinated bronze 8-day going, hour and half-hour striking mantel clock.
C. Rectangular, the clock housing surmounted with a seated figure reading the laws of Minos, his foot resting upon a column, behind a tablet inscribed ?Table des Lois de Minos?, to the side a flag, shield and staff, rectangular base with anthemion mount, block feet. D. Silvered with painted black radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Black Breguet hands. M. 73 mm., circular brass, barrels for the going and striking trains, anchor escapement, silk suspension, brass bob pendulum, hour and half-hour striking on a bell. Dim. 37 x 24 x 9 cm.
