Cupid Sleeping Blanc Fils, Palais Royal. Made circa 1800. Very fine, bronze and gilt-bronze 8-day going mantel clock with hour and half-hour striking.

C. Waisted bronze body with reeded decoration, gilt-bronze rope-twist borders, oval base with four bun feet, the top surmounted by the reclining figure of sleeping cupid with his bow and quiver of arrows, on grassy base with buches of grapes scattered around. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute track with Arabic 15-minute numerals. Gilt brass hands. M. 90 mm., gilt brass, circular, going barrels for both trains, anchor escapement, silk suspension, brass bob pendulum, outside countwheel, striking the hours and half-hours on a bell. Dim. 34 x 23 x 14 cm.
