The Wine Barrel Viennese, the movement by Rigaud a Genève. Made circa 1880. Fine and unusual, silver-gilt and painted on enamel table clock in the form of a wine barrel with a coral-mounted winding key.

In the form of a barrel supported by two crouching bearded figures, a tap at one end, the dial at the other, the body decorated with a painted on enamel scene of Diana and Endymion and Time clipping the wings of cupid, rectangular base with canted corners, painted with a scene of two reclining ladies in a landscape, detachable key in the top with coral acorn finial. D. Painted on enamel with a scene of a reclining youth, applied silver chapter ring with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Paste-set hands. M. 27 mm., matte gilt, full plate, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, pierced and engraved continental balance cock, regulation dial. Movement signed. Dim. 8 x 8.2 x 5.4 cm
