Allegory of Music Jean Georges Remond, Geneva. Made circa 1790. Very fine and rare, navette-shaped, 18K gold, painted on enamel and pearl-set snuff box. Accompanied by a fitted morocco box.

Two-body, navette-shaped, the sides decorated with panels of opaque turquoise enamel with gold paillon border, chased gold pillars and bead and reel border on a white enamel ground, base decorated to match within a further multicoloured gold paillon border, hinged lid decorated to match, the center with a finely painted scene of a musical trophy within a pastoral landscape, gold paillon border, outer border set with pearls. Interior punched with maker?s mark IGR Dim. 99 x 44 x 26 mm. In good condition
