Frederick Smith, London, No. 193. Made circa 1710. Fine and rare, silver pair-cased pocket watch with calendar and square hinge.
C. Outer: two-body, ?bassine?, polished, square hinge, the back engraved with a large crest. Inner: two-body, ?bassine?, polished, split bezel. D. Silver champleve, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and outermost Arabic five-minute numerals, center with foliate signature cartouches, aperture for the date above 6. Blued steel beetle and poker hands. M. 38 mm., gilt brass, divided vase pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm steel balance, finely pierced and engraved balance cock with streamers, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 55 mm.
