Military Chronograph Three-Tone Pink Dial E. Gübelin, Lucerne, movement No. 12023, case No. 37262. Made circa 1940. Fine and very rare, oversized, Staybrite stainless steel pocket watch with chronograph and instantaneous 30-minute register.

Three-body, polished and brushed, stepped bezels, circular bow, button at 11 for start/stop of the chronograph and button at 1 for the return-to-zero, the interior of the back engraved ?MFG-ARMY-CONT, YR. 1942-1943-1951, ARMY-AF-NO. 745, E. GUBELIN WORK?S?. D. Three-tone pink with painted radial Roman quarter-hour numerals, outer baton hour indexes and minute track, inner fifths of a second track with Arabic fivesecond numerals, subsidiary dials for the seconds and 30-minute register. Blued steel baton hands. M. 17???, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, Breguet balance spring, index regulator, chronograph with visible work. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 55 mm.
