Dog of Fo Gübelin, Luzerne, No. 22658. Made circa 1920. Fine and rare, rose quartz, marble, rosewood and enamel, 8-day going Art Deco "Chinoiserie" table clock.

On rectangular green marble base, dial to the right on upright en suite marble, to the left a finely carved rose quartz Chinese dog of Fo sitting on a rosewood base carved with flowers and foliage. D. Rectangular, large, gold-edged black Arabic numerals on translucent light blue/green guilloche enamel background, translucent rose enamel center over sunburst engine-turning. Elaborate gilt hands with black detail. M. 20''' , rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with Breguet balance spring. Dial and movement housing signed. Dim. 21 x 34 x 12 cm.
