Alexander & Elisabeth Swiss, probably Geneva. Made circa 1790. Fine, gold and painted on enamel snuff box.

C. Two-body, rectangular with canted corners, the sides and base decorated with panels of royal blue guilloche enamel within gold paillon and white enamel borders, hinged lid with a finely painted on enamel scene of Alexander and Elisabeth within a gold paillon border and decorated to mtch the base, the interior of the lid engraved ?Sir Edward Cripps, with esteem and affection on his retirement from the Council of the Stock Exchange, 5th April 1950?. Punched with indistinct Swiss marks. Dim. 79 x 39 x 16 mm. From the Collection of an Italian Gentleman
