Two-body, circular, engraved stiff-leaf borders, the base decorated with a painted on enamel scene of a putto releasing doves from a cage on a royal blue guilloche enamel ground with gold paillon and white enamel border, the band set with curved rectangular panels of royal blue enamel with gold paillon flowers and white enamel borders, the lid with a finely painted on enamel panel depicting two swooning lovers in front of two putti on clouds holding a tablet inscribed ?Serment D'aimer Toute Sa Vie?, royal blue guilloche ground with sunray engine-turning. Punched with indistinct maker?s mark, charge mark of Jean-Francois Kalendrin from February 1789. Dim. 63 x 21 mm. From the Collection of an Italian Gentleman
