Rose and Violet Bouquet Swiss, probably Fleurier, No. 1340. Made for the Chinese market, circa 1860. Fine, silver-gilt and painted on enamel, pearl-set, center-seconds pocket watch.
C. Three-body, "Empire", the back cover decorated with a painted on enamel bouquet of flowers including roses, peonies, violets and pansies, the bezels, pendant and bow set with split-pearls, reeded band. Hinged and sprung glazed gilt-metal cuvette fixed to the movement ring. D. White enamel, narrow radial Roman numerals, outer minute and seconds divisions. Blued steel quatrefoil hands. M. 50 mm, frosted gilt brass, entirely foliate engraved ?Chinese? bridge calibre, 10 jewels, standing barrel, straight-line lever escapement with elongated counterpoise, monometallic balance with blued steel winged weights, blued-steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Diam. 56 mm.
