Laterndluhr Austrian, probably Vienna. Made circa 1830. Fine and rare, 8-day going, rosewood and boxwood inlaid Biedermeier laterndluhr. Accompanied by a brass and wood crank key.
C. Nine-light, the hood with architectural pediment, lift-out door with arch-top panel, glazed body above molded undercut base, boxwood stringing, screw-adjusted wall spikes. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, cast gilt bronze bezel. Blued steel hands. M. Tapered rectangular brass plates, turned cylindrical pillars, four-wheel train, anchor escapement, crutch with micrometer centering adjustment, brass-clad weight, wood rod pendulum with brass bob and screw regulation nut. Dim. 126 x 26 x 15 cm.
