Notes

Richard Masterson, London, was admitted a member of the Clockmakers' Company in 1633 and made Master of the Company in 1642. He was a subscriber for the incorporation of the Clockmakers Company, and died in 1653. The Museum of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers in Guildhall, London, possesses a very unusual star-shaped watch made by him.The balance cock, although more elaborate, still clearly shows the remnants of the old S-shape style, its S-shape skeleton can clearly be seen.Property of an American Collector
