John Cashmore, 1 North Buildings, London, No. 3662, made for Spanish or South American market, hallmarked 1866-67.Very fine and rare, 18K gold hunting-cased, minute-repeating pocket chronometer with special escapement.

C. four-body, "bassine et filets", fully engraved on both covers with floral and foliate designs, band engraved with repeated geometrical pattern, gold hinged cuvette with large chased word "CHRONOMETER". D. silver with Roman numerals alternating with small engraved cartouches, outer minute dot divisions, center with applied gold flower basket, the edge with applied gold acanthus-leaf decoration, subsidiary sunk seconds. Blued steel "fleur de lys" hands. M. 44,4 mm, gilt 3/4 plate, fusee with Harison's maintaining power and chain, 23 jewels, most in settings, Earnshaw type spring detent chronometer escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold temperature and quarter screws, blued steel free sprung helical balance-spring, repeating on gongs through activating a slide in the band.Movement signed.Diam. 53 mm
