John Peatling, Boston, No. 9213, hallmarked 1804-05.Fine and rare, silver, pair-cased "contract" watch with stop feature and American watch-paper, accompanied by a steel chain.
C. Outer: two-body, polished; inner: two-body, "bassine", polished, stop-lever protruding from under the bezel at 4 o'clock. D. off-white enamel, Roman numerals, outer minute ring, subsidiary seconds. gold "Heart" hands. M. 41.3 mm, fire-gilded, full-plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain steel balance with flat balance spring, single-footed pierced and engraved cock with a mask at the neck, rack and pinion regulator, gilt dust cup.Signed on the movement and on the dust cup. Diam. 56 mm.
