American Watch Co., Waltham, Mass., AWCo Grade, Model 88, No. 3574333, circa 1888.Fine, 14K gold, keyless watch with a special dial and non-magnetic escapement.

C. three-body, "bassine et filets", triple hinged, engine-turned and engraved with foliage back, hinged cuvette. D. white enamel, upper half with painted polychrome picture of a nightingale singing on a small branch of blossoming tree, blue sky in the background, Roman numerals alternating with sapphire color dots within gold paillon circles, outer minute ring with five-minute diamond-like markers, sunk subsidiary seconds. Blued steel "Spade" hands. M. 16 size, nickel, 3/4 split plate, damascend, 17 jewels, the top ones in gold settings, gold center wheel, straight line lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with gold screws, palladium Breguet balance spring.Signed on the dial and movement. Movement also engraved "Non-Magnetic". Diam. 48.4 mm.
