C. three-body, "bassine et filets", by "E.H.& Co", engine-turned back centered with initials, reeded band, hinged bezel and cuvette. D. white enamel, upright gold Arabic numerals, outer gold paillon dot minute divisions, the border decorated with paillons and painted flowers, center painted with garland of flowers, sunk subsidiary seconds. Blued steel "Crescent" hands. M. N size, nickel, 3/4 plate, damascened and spotted, 15 jewels, the top ones in gold settings, adjusted, "dear" grade, straightline calibrated lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with gold screws, blued steel flat balance spring, swan neck micrometric regulator.Signed on the dial, case and movement.Diam. 55.5 mm.

It is very rare to find Howard watches featuring multicolored painted dials.On September 6, 1887, Howard patented one more component of his grading system, the "dear", which indicated "watch movements adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and position", the highest possible grade.
