Notes

Urwerk grew out of the 1995 meeting between brothers Felix and Thomas Baumgartner, both gifted watchmakers, and Martin Frei, an artist and designer. Urwerk SA was created in 1997. That same year, the watches 101 (gold) and 102 (steel) were launched in Basel. In 2003 the new 103 model with its orbiting satellites was presented at Basel and caught the attention of Harry Winston Rare Timepieces. In 2004, Urwerk began work on the revolutionary Opus V in partnership with Harry Winston. Thomas Baumgartner left Urwerk to concentrate on his own projects. The 103.03 and the Opus V were launched at BaselWorld 2005.
