Arnold & Steinwachs - Heures de Cupidon Arnold & Steinwachs, Geneve, No. 58861, retailed by G. Nicole, Lausanne. Made circa 1910. Very fine and very rare, 8-day going, silvergilt, painted on enamel, ivory and rose-quartz mystery table clock with a fitted gold-tooled morocco box.
C. Octagonal rose quartz base, concave silver decorated translucent pink guilloche enamel with painted on enamel flower sprays, raised on four tapered feet. D. White enamel chapter ring with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic five-minute numerals, inner pink guilloche enamel ring with enameled ladybird hour pointer and a carved ivory figure of cupid holding a staff indicating the minutes. M. 50 mm., frosted gilt, three-quarter plate, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Case with Arnold & Steinwachs trademark. Diam. 98 mm., 145 mm. high overall.
