Bulle Clock Bulle-Clock, France, Patented. Made circa 1920. Fine and rare early electric mantel clock with green japanned case.

C. Rectangular, arch-top, green and gilt painted japanned decoration, gilt glazed bezel with beaded decoration, knurled feet. D. Silvered with black Arabic numerals, outer minute track, cut-away center to view the mechanism. Blued steel spade hands. M. Brass, electromagnetic pendulum with rating nut, electrical contacts. Dial signed. Dim. 25 x 18.5 x 10.5 cm.

The electric mechanism used in the Bulle electric clocks is the reverse of that used by Hatot. The Bulle system has the electromagnetic coil situated at the end of the pendulum and the curved bar magnet is fixed to the frame.
