Swiss Thin Quarter-Repeating Watch Swiss, No. 4809. Made circa 1840. Fine, thin, quarter-repeating, 18K gold, hunting cased pocket watch with ruby cylinder escapement.
C. Four-body, bassine et filets, engine-turned and engraved with flowers and foliage, chased foliate bezels, pendant and bow, coin-edge band. Hinged gold cuvette. D. Silver, engine-turned, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, floral engraved center. Blued steel spade hands. M. 17???, matte gilt, jewelled to the third wheel, ruby cylinder escapement, three-arm flat-rim balance with pare-chute on the upper pivot, flat blued steel balance spring, bimetallic compensation curb on the index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by depressing a pull-and-twist piston in the pendant. Diam. 48 mm.
