Bally ? Clock with Patent triple Date Calendar PH(ilib)ert Bally, Paris, No. 1223. Made circa 1860. Fine, rare and unusual, gilt brass, 8-day going, mantel clock with hour and half-hour striking, Bally?s patent calendar mechanism activated by the clock, on ebonised wood base with glass shade.

C. Gilt brass frame with engraved decoration, cabriole feet. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, white enamel calendar dial with concentric chapter rings for the days of the week, the date and the months. Blued steel trefoil hands. M. Circular gilt brass, going barrels for both trains, anchor escapement, brass bob pendulum with engraved decoration, outside countwheel striking on a bell, calendar mechanism activated by a pallet and levers geared from the movement. Dial and movement signed. Dim. 33 x 23 x 16 cm.
