Swiss and Dutch. Made circa 1750 and 1800 Two fine painted on enamel watch case backs.
The first on gold, decorated with a painted on enamel scene of a young lady in a red dress in a wooded landscape, the upper half decorated with light blue enamel and gold paillon flower cornucopiae, central green guilloche and gold paillon rosette with white ?pearl? border. Diam. 48 mm. The second on copper, decorated with an amusing painted on enamel scene probably after David II Teniers the Younger, (Antwerp, 1610 - Brussels, 1690), depicting an elderly gentleman receiving treatment for a bunion, the counter-enamel decorated with a flower on a white ground. Diam. 47 mm. In good overall condition.
