Gustave Sandoz Pr ecision Watch with Fusee & Unusual Winding Gustave Sandoz, Horloger de la Marine Nat.le, Paris, No. 1725. Made circa 1870. Very fine and rare, 18K yellow gold, lever chronometer pocket watch with fusee and unusual winding and handsetting to improve precision.
C. Four-body, bassine et filets, polished, the back cover with engraved monogram, button at 1 for engaging the winding, at 11 for hand-setting. Hinged gold cuvette with aperture for regulation. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel spade hands. M. 19???, special caliber, matte gilt, fuse and chain with Harrison?s maintaining power, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold meantime and temperature compensation screws, blued steel helical balance spring, the terminal secured by a stud with two screws, polished steel rack and pinion regulator.
