Romilly Four-Color Gold & Quarter Repeating Romilly à Paris. Made circa 1775. Fine and rare, 18K four coloured gold, quarter repeating pocket watch.
C. Double body, Louis XVI, the back with a four-color gold scene chased with a courting couple in a garden amongst classical ruins with outer pierced rococco decoration. D. Matte silver with red champlevé radial Roman numerals and outer blue enamel Arabic minute ring, rococo engraved center. Paste-set hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three arm-steel balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass rococo pierced and engraved cock with polished steel end-piece, repeating on a bell activated by depressing the pendant. Movement signed. Diam. 45.5 mm.
