Chevalier Et Cochet - La Chasse Carousel Chevalier et Cochet, (Geneva). Made circa 1800. Very fine and very rare, 18K rose gold and enamel double-face automaton pocket watch.

C. Two-body, Directoire, concave bezels, glazed on both sides, polished. D. White enamel, eccentric chapter with Arabic numerals and outer minute divisions set in the lower part, the top with regulator sector, winding aperture at 4 o'clock. Automaton: Set on the back, within an aperture of very fine gold plate decorated in champlevé with flower vases, gold trees, a dove, and "Souvenir" on a polished gold ground, a charming cavalcade of gold figures appearing in the aperture, a stag hunt in progress, the whole against a painted on ivory landscape. Pierced gold shield hands. M. 47 mm, hinged, frosted gilt full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement heavy brass balance with flat balance spring, double-footed solid cock. Dial signed. Diam. 57 mm.
