Notes

Greubel Forsey In 1999, after working together for nearly 20 years, Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey joined forces and began developing a new generation of tourbillons specifically designed to improve timekeeping in mechanical watches. In 2004, they unveiled Greubel Forsey and released their Double Tourbillon 30° after four years of research and development. The Double Tourbillon 30° features a tourbillon within a tourbillon, a technical milestone in watchmaking history. A one minute tourbillon carriage rotates inside a larger four minute carriage inclined at a 30° angle, giving the watch its name. The main characteristic of their innovative design is the 30° inclination of the interior cage rotation axis which creates optimal conditions for the balance wheel. In this premier construction, the double off-set tourbillons continually compensate for gravity-induced errors on the oscillator in all positions, allowing for superior chronometric performance. The Double Tourbillon 30° features an open dial allowing the innovative double-axel tourbillon mechanism to be viewed and appreciated.
