Grand Tir de l'Exposition Nationale, Geneve 1896 Louis Brandt & Frère, Bienne, No. 1228437. Made circa 1895. Fine and rare, nielloed silver, openface, keyless pocket watch commemorating the Grand Tir de l'Exposition Nationale Suisse, Genève-1896.
C. Four-body, massive, "demi-bassine", bezel, band and bow with oak, laurel and berry damascened decoration, the back decorated with the arms and a scene of Geneva. Hinged silver cuvette. D. White enamel with black Roman numerals, outer minute track with arabic 5 minute markers, subsidiary seconds. Gold Breguet hands. M. 41 mm., 18''', frosted gilt, 19 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Case signed. Diam. 53 mm.
